Let's use highest level Education and critical thinking abilities as our baseline for "intelligence" in this thread.
Intelligent people(highly educated, critical thinkers) are MORE likely to laugh at a funny movie or joke because they "get it" and are able to comprehend the humor/punchline or whatever, better/faster than average intelligence people?
Or....
Intelligent people(highly educated, critical thinkers) are LESS likely to laugh at a funny movie or joke, also because they "get it", but it's dull to them. The wit behind it isn't sharp enough to cut through their intelligence and hit their "that was funny" button.
Is a person of average intelligence more likely to be ROFL at a funny movie/joke, or less likely because they often won't be able to comprehend the humor in it quick enough to trigger a laugh?
I know Education and critical thinking aren't the end all/be all measures of human intelligence, I'm just using it as a baseline for the sake of the thread.
