was talking to this chick from the UK and somehow the conversation leads to this celebrity in the UK named jordan and I was like carlito when asked about benny blanco

'WHOOO????' :dahell:

I realized then that you're never truly famous until you make it big in the states. the celebs that got famous in america will get mobbed wherever they go no matter what country, while hoemgrown foreign celebs are only really famous in a specific region. its really amazing how the americcan media is broadcast to the whole world. everyone pays attention to it

I mean, the world doesn't always center around America.

Just look at soccer guys like Cristiano Ronaldo, Beckham, Messi. All those guys would be recognized anywhere in the world, and nobody cares about them much in America.

Or that Aishwarya Rai woman.

Kim Kardashian is famous in America, but I doubt she's as "world famous" as some people who aren't even known here.
Let her go to Africa. See if people figure out who she is before Samuel Eto'o.

This is not true. It reminds me of Americans who unfortunately fulfill all the negative stereotypes the world has of them. A person with this view probably does not have a passport and even if he or she does, has not been to more than 2 or 3 foreign countries. Jackie Chan was extremely famous before he "broke big" in America. He could leave Asia and walk around in Europe and still get completely mobbed by people. But under the "You haven't become popular unless America loves you" logic, it would be saying that until Chan knocked it out the park with the "Rush Hour" movies, he wasn't truly popular. Not only is that view wrong, it's laughable. Such a view is probably what ignorant people tell themselves to feel better about not truly knowing the world. Instead of learning more of the outside world, they shut down things even more and ironically feel even better for the fact they lack knowledge.

Fame is relative to a body of people. So no. Now if you want to talk about the magnitude of fame that's a different discussion.

BTW, that Aishwarya Rai lady I was talking about.
This is her. She's gorgeous. And insanely famous.
