Republicans in the state of Georgia put a lock box on the post office. For a gazillion years, you could walk inside the facility and drop your mail in the box. These state Republican had black workers at YOUR local post office lock the doors so you couldn't do that any more. This is not true. For decades, Juneteenth has always been celebrated EXCLUSIVELY among Black Americans and at times other Black ethnicities, nationwide. In smaller instances, in Black neighborhoods, local Black churches, etc, would have events such as block parties, cookouts, face painting, music, etc.

The national holiday was intended to bring recognition to outsiders (Whites, Latinos, Asians, etc.) who may have been unaware of such a celebration's existence and potentially want to learn more. Obviously, the holiday may seem “new” to outside groups because it has no cultural significance to them, and as I stated, covertly and overtly, of course cacs aren't interested in celebrating or recognizing a day in which Black people were no longer slaves to them, as it's too morally conflicting for their subconscious to handle.

Although it has only been recognized as a national holiday for a few years, it has long been celebrated and acknowledged among Black people. It's not some new phenomenon, or rather creation, that people like yourself make it out to be. Sometimes y'all be exposing how disconnected you are from Black people and Black History. If you are indeed Black, it's a disservice to yourself to be culturally ignorant of your own existence.
