Union Station is literally 1 block from the Capital building and 5/6 blocks from the White House in a gentrified neighborhood. There isn't any crime there.

DC is big. They haven't done shyt except harass people. They only stay on the mall. If you want to avoid them you can just stay away from the National Mall which is probably the safety part of the city.
