I'm currently in South Beach. Maybe becasue it's full of tourists. I haven't seen any outright MAGA shyt.

Went to see some gators yesterday on an airboat tour in the everglades. shyt was dope.

That area probably had a few MAGA types.

From seeing the gators yesterday. Those motherfukkers were sitting dead still in the water. If you weren't looking you would miss them. The water was just below knee level.

I pity anyone who thinks they escaping that prison and running across there. They gonna get their ass snatched up :damn:

So wait
They putting crocodiles around the cells?

No need to gators already there. Plus this is what awaits you if you want to escape in the dead of night

2,300 sq miles of this.

NYC by comparison is 469 sq miles
not just that…you’re 50+ miles from Miami proper and 50+ miles from the gulf coast. You’re not getting there anytime soon unless you manage to steal vehicle out there :mjlol:

Theres ONE road in…and one road out :wow:

Trump was asked how long people would be staying there before they left. He was baffled by the question. They are not expected to leave, ever. This is really Alligator Auschwitz.

It's going to be so unbelievably hot and humid in there people will be dying in no time. And you can bet Congress people who try to inspect it will be violently arrested by ICE Nazis. Someone needs to stop this, somehow.

Yep. They want to pretend like they won't have blood on their hands. It's a tented, nature induced death. May they be reaped for what they are sewing.

Thank you, Gov. DeSantis, for the establishment of this century's FIRST concentration camp on US soil, with its' own airport to facilitate the removal of the undesirables to the unknown. And you want our Florida National Guard to now become the judge/jury in immigration cases. Utter BS.

🆔 citixen.bsky.social
You guys had ten concentration camps on US soil in the 1940s to lock up Japanese Americans for the crimes of being 2nd and 3rd generation immigrants.

3000 ppl, no AC -middle of summer humid Florida swam, no immediate bathroom access(?), no visible area for fresh air/activity, what could possibly go wrong? Maybe those new Natl Guard Immig judges will process them asap & they can get the hell of this crap place faster. USA is not winning rn.

They’re marketing this as “Alligator Alcatraz”. The name needs to be changed in the public consciousness so that it is remembered as “Alligator Auschwitz”, because that’s what it really is.
Also, this place will be completely flattened with everyone LOCKED INSIDE when hurricane season hits.

Again, every reporter should be asking every politician who applauds this the simple questions, “How does this help the American people? Please, by definition this is a concentration camp. Call it Alligator Auschwitz, since that is what it is.

Make that name stick.

So this facility is estimated to cost $ 450,000,000 annually with the capacity to house 5,000 detainees at a time.

https://www.reuters.com/world/us/tr...tions-florida-ahead-bill-deadline-2025-07-01/

That means a cost of $90,000 per bed. Seems a tad expensive, right? I'm sure some of Trump and/or DeSantis's friends are pocketing a lot of it.

MAGA is lying about saving money or reducing the deficit when they passed a bill that gifts ten of billions in additional funding for immigration enforcement, much of which will be wasted on grifting projects such as this. Meanwhile, they will balloon the deficit with unsustainable tax cuts (mostly targeted to the 0.1%) and cut Medicaid funding for their own voters, who simply do not care.

│ The cost is one thing, but I’m most bothered by the fact that a US president is showing up for a ribbon cutting ceremony (or whatever) for a prison. It says so much about where we are today.

│ │ Skips the funeral for an assassinated politician but attends a ribbon cutting for a prison. You’d think someone who nearly had their head blown off by an assassin would have more sympathy for someone who wasn’t so lucky, right?

In a court filing this a.m. the Department of Homeland Security states it has "not implemented, authorized, directed or funded" the Everglades detention center aka "Alligator Alcatraz." "Florida is constructing and operating the facility using state funds on state lands..."

2/4
🆔 gfineout.bsky.social
DHS told press outlets it signed off on a plan to create detention centers in Fla submitted it to by Fla & that funding would come from a FEMA grant program. A top FEMA official says in court filing that there is money available but Fla has not yet applied for $ & isn't approved

3/4
🆔 gfineout.bsky.social
DHS court filing states Fla has a 287 (g) agreement with ICE & "any decision to detain aliens... would be Florida's decision, not DHS's."

4/4
🆔 gfineout.bsky.social
Lastly, the declaration from the FEMA official in the court filing says that "costs for constructing new, permanent buildings are not allowable" under the grant program that Fla hopes to access to pay it back for the detention center
