south park fell off around 2008, when i was in college. i remember they went from making up their own stories, to every episode just being "what pop culture/trend/news thing is cartman gonna do this week". and that would be the whole joke

That's where I fell off too. They used to be more organic and would filter modern topical stuff things through the boys. When it just became them flexing how fast they could make episodes shyt got stale. It was shyt you already seen and joked about in real life. Then they added the continuity and that killed it.
