It kinda hate that Trump was the one to push this when Democrats could've easily done it instead :snoop: Country has 300 million people yet companies all of sudden can't find talent. Yea aight. You want to underpay top programmers by 50K-100K and have their existence in this country predicated on them staying with your company whereas an American Citizen could change jobs whenever they want.

It's not enough. 200k would makes sense.

The problem here is that a whole professor of computer science from India will be happily earning $12,000 a year in their home country. This isn't even an entry-level person who would be applying for the $140,000 job in California, but a late career expert.. I can very easily see the Indian H1B Mills deducting The 100,000 from such a job, and paying 40,000 to the employee who would gladly work for this amount just for the privilege of remaining in the land of milk and honey.

As it stands now, This program will just cause double extortion. The Treasury will use it to extort the H1B companies, who will then extort and exploit the Indian workers. I suspect that nothing will change about the program, except more Indians on the west coast living with 3 people sharing a bedroom.

Not exactly. The H1B visa isn't for a single year, it's for multiple years so it's only paid during the first year. If you reread Trump statement he is saying that his executive order stands for one year. Not that The payment will be yearly.

Again I'm skeptical that he's actually trying to discourage H-1B's. This is just another clever way to increase government revenue by charging a foreigner tax. If the goal was to Decrease the usage of h1bs, Then the penalty should be far higher than the salary of the job.

I may be an outlier, but I personally Believe the program should only be used to bring in experts and world class talents. Think of an Einstein or warner vonnbraun. In these instances, they are willing to pay far more than they pay a domestic employee because the skill set is literally impossible to find. It shouldn't be abused the way it is being abused currently to bringing entry level people and mid-level people. And certainly shouldn't be going to mundane jobs. There was a poster last year who posted a receipt of one of these Indian H1B Mills submitting an application for a janitor. :francis:

That's all it should be used for. Anything else is CAP. The foreigner you're bringing in better be the next Issac Newton :camby:

Goatganda the pearl of Africa
You’re against this too?

Honestly no fan of trump but it's a good start to stop the abuse. Next is the offshore component

Here in Canada the system is abused so much . Companies will flat out lie how they can't find a Canadian even though unemployment rate is the highest it's been in 15 years to bring in an Indian to do your morning coffee

These companies want your azz in the office but now gonna pay sanjeet pennies on an offshore job
And they don't even do the job right. 2 weeks ago the entire tech department at my company had to come in and do a 14-hour shift because The Indian offshore team fcked up a major project at The last minute.

My company is totally fine with this because they can tell their shareholders they saved money on a few salaries on The front end :snoop:

CurryBrehs getting their wake up call. If you ain't a cac, you better recognize what time it is.
All this because Vivek chimed in on Twitter about H1Bs.
:mjlol:
India will have to make huge concessions during the trade negotiations if they want to halt the immigration crackdown. It's probably the only reason the Trump administration is doing all this.
