He posted this because his DOJ conveniently announced today that they believe the FISA warrants issued in 2016 against Trump's ex-campaign aide, Carter Page, were invalid because the FBI made errors on the warrant application.
Since 2017, Republicans have falsely claimed that it was this controversial FISA warrant issued against Carter Page that led to the Russia Investigation. We have since learned that it was NOT the FISA warrant issued against Carter Page that led to the Russia Investigation. It was launched because of another Trump aide, George Papadoplous, who after a few drinks at a London pub let it slip to an Australian Ambassador that Russia had dirt on Hillary Clinton. The Australian Ambassador then went to the FBI and told them what Papadoplous had told him. That's how the Russia Investigation started. But Trump and his allies want you to believe it was started based on the controversial FISA warrant against Carter Page.
Trump wants people to believe so desperately that his campaign was spied on and wants Obama's name on the decision-making. Spying and surveiling are two different things. They got surveiled on, but only because they were working with, and welcoming, the Russians.
