I read ages ago that it was supposed to lead to Vince's brother, Rod, becoming a character on the show

I'm sure this was just him hearing about it, because there were a lot of marks thinking it was real, then he called WWE to see if it was true. No way he actually watched Raw and thought "That might've been real!"

And the storyline had some GOAT fukkery potential if Demon Chris didn't do what he did. Vince acting crazy leading up to it was classic.
