Its probably much much much cheaper to send a bunch of e2 gaurdsmen earning 30k per year, with unpaid overtime, than it is to pay the existing police force 90k+ to do the same job. Gaurdsmen dont even get full benefits if trump periodically sends them home for a new outfit of troops from a different state

If i were in the nola PD, i would be heated because their presence is an existential crisis to the local police workforce that eats primarily from overtime.
