I'd like to believe all these tight games will help him come playoff time

60% from 2
62% from 3
72% TS

in the clutch.

If Josh wants to duck the tax again this year, he has to shed 7 million in salary. Barlow and Walker will get signed at the last minute to prorate their salary as much as possible but

Oubre is at 8.3m
Drum is at 5m
EG is at 2.2m

I expect some combination of those 3 to get moved....Unless he thinks this season is worth going all in.

Does VJ's fast growth change how you guys view the 2028 Clippers pick and the 2029 pick swap? Would they be worth trading to bring in somebody like a Trey Murphy :patrice:

Honestly, I wouldn’t move those picks for any role players. I’d be reluctant even for a star unless it’s a young star. We don’t want to make the same mistake we did with Ben and Embiid and rushing to be a contender without properly filling out the roster. I wouldn’t do anything drastic until we get Biid and George off the books.

As someone who follows recruiting…I’d move the pick. That 27-28 class looks BAD rn. You hope a late bloomer emerges but there is no Flagg, Harper, Dybantsa or Peterson.

Fukk it.... cash that pick in Morey

I never would have imagined we’d see this version of Embiid again. This still isn’t MVP Joel but he’s starting to protect the rim and get up and down the court. It’s crazy how good VJ is and he’s not intimidated by the other star power on the team.

Biid is probably at 75% of MVP level but man its good to see him out there again :to:

But VJ :mindblown:

VJ doubles Kolek and makes him give up the ball to an open Mikal in the corner, VJ recovers and blocks the shot, falls into the bench, gets the ball back and dunks before PG and Embiid cross half court...

he does shyt like this every quarter now.

Go all in Morey :damn: :damn: :damn:

VJ’s effort is insane. I was just saying to my boy imagine if VJ was on the team 3yrs ago when we played the Celtics or in that Hawks series 5yrs ago. We never had a guy outside of Jimmy (not including Biid and Maxey) that would do the dirty work and was a scorer.

This year we have VJ, Barlow and Bona doing the grunt work. Nurse has gone back to that double big lineup with Biid + Bona several games in a row.

Also PG has been doing all the little things we need. Ball handling, defense, floor spacing. I wanna give him his credit...i need that fg% to improve tho

Another thing, i was watching Knicks content creators on youtube last night :dead: most enjoyable videos i've seen in a minute :laff:...they were complaining about how Philly was more "hungrier" than they were. It was a play where Brunson was pushing a fast break and PG, Grimes and VJ ran with him to stop it, but no other Knicks ran with him....thats some shyt you would never hear about a sixers team :mjcry:

He wasn’t supposed to look like this until midway through year 2. I genuinely have to reevaluate how high his ceiling is.

I dont know how to comp him. I was watching some rookie wade highlights and his handle and slashing was smoother than VJs. Wades Rim pressure was elite. but VJ is by far the better shooter

Rookie VJ is younger than Rookie Wade since he spent 2 seasons at Marquette before coming out. Wade was 2+ years older than Ant and 1.5 years older than VJ.

I'm curious what VJ's numbers would look like if he was the primary guard on his own team.

The handle + fg% at the rim is what will decide how great VJ can be (which were the obvious question marks about him coming out of Baylor). The shooting and defense is ahead of schedule tho

I don’t even wanna put a ceiling on him cause he wasn’t supposed to be this level of 3 point shooter and figure out paint scoring in 30 games @JoelB

that empty side ball screen action was fukking the Knicks up in the 3rd...mainly KAT. Embiid got people like Sam Vecenie ready to jump back on the bandwagon :wow:

VJ is back in the ROTY discussions
