I typed in something like "crypto wallet" into the search feature yesterday, and it gave me 9 pages of results.

Nano Ledger came up, but that's a physical/cold wallet. I won't concern myself with that just yet.

The names that came up most often were: Trust Wallet, Exodus Wallet, Coinbase Wallet, and Meta Mask

My Stats

I am a US Citizen living in New York City. I am brand new to crypto and don't plan on putting in more than $5000 into crypto for the remainder of 2021. I may put in considerably less, and also I may re-invest any earnings, but for the remainder of this year, I don't plan on putting in anything over $5000.

I just downloaded CoinBase. I will probably download KuCoin soon.

I'm not looking to buy any Bitcoin this year (not even fractions). I'm only looking to buy ETH and alt coins. The ETH I'd be holding for a little longer and the alt coins I'd flip sooner if possible. I'm also interested in earning interest in the form of "staking".

So...given my stats, what wallet seems like it would be the best fit for me?

Bonus question: Should I have tried to get on Coinbase Pro right away instead of the basic Coinbase? I already verified my ID on Coinbase, but I haven't deposited any funds yet.

I appreciate the quick reply.

I've read up on some people hyping up "gemini". It seems good, but for my preliminary purposes, it doesn't seem to be THAT much different than Coinbase. At least based off of this Invetopedia article that I checked:

Gemini vs. Coinbase: Which Should You Choose?.

Crypto.com was kind of getting a bad rap on these forums. I know that I should do my own research outside of The Coli, but Crypto.com was getting some hate on here.

UniSwap seemed to be getting some love on here. When you say "I wouldn't do any swap exchanges", are you referring to using places like UniSwap as well?

And...back to the main topic, thanks for mentioning that you use Trust Wallet. Despite it's "crazy fees", you are still using it over the other choices so it must have some positives/advantages to it.

the swaps are for "shyt" coins. short term pump and dump. might come up might lose it all. coinbase/gemini is more for established long term holds. are you trying to come up or hold for long term ? I have uniswap but haven't used it. Ive lost alot of money from fees buying and swaping coins on trust wallet and bitmart. at the end its just a preference they all gonna do the same thing

Appreciate the reply. Yours was one of the UserNames that I kept seeing pop up as I searched the 9 pages of results that came up when I typed in "crypto wallet" into the search bar last night.

trust wallet is by far the easiest for getting to these other low priced coins. Metamask you can use in your browser really well so. I'll probably use trustwallet on the phone to buy BNB, swap to Binance Smart Chain, and swap that to whatever is the next moonshot coin, swap back to BNB and then take profits

I'm leaning towards coinbase wallet.

I'm still kinda new to crypto outside of using Robinhood. Still playing around with Gate.io

I'll eventually buy the hardware wallet.
