Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
Already know about the export cost etc etc.

But other than I imagine retired people are there a lot of young and middle aged high income people working everywhere in that state to at least somewhat justify the cost of living?

I’m asking cause I never hear of major companies with office spaces in Hawaii or maybe I’m out of the loop?

Your first line is the beginning and end. It goes beyond the cost to ship. Imagine if anything needs to 'suddenly' be needed there? It will take that much longer to get it there. Shipments to Hawaii for any business of any size probably have to have a much more constant receiving schedule than land based business. Matter of fact just thinking of it shyt sounds like a nightmare.

But I’m wondering what line of work people do to afford the high cost of living. Not the people struggling but the people who manage to live there with not much worry.

That was said in the first line but many people living there struggle to live so I’m curious what jobs the people who do not struggle to live have over there

Service industry for the tourists

Im here now and a big factor is the fact that there are no exports. Pineapple Farms...dead, Sugar Cane farms....dead, Macnuts barely hanging on. Hawaii has gone out of its way to cripple themselves and rely on the Young brothers shipping Co. And their exclusive shipping deal with the islands to price gauge for goods.
Now with gas prices going up everything here goes up.
Lucerne 60 count eggs=$60
Ravioli can=$3.99
We had plenty of Cattle ranches but now they are getting shut down because of the price and regulations have inforced to protect the environment. Stores regularly run out of supplies because now we only have 2 ships a week coming.

If you wanna make it here on the Big Island, you gotta work for the county, be a nurse, sell drugs or bring in Illegal fireworks(huge money) and pray you break even

Im estatic to leave next year it has been the worst experience of my life eating all my funds.
