TSC: Your favorite Rappers/Groups

Curious to see what actual artists you like. This is, after all, an offspring hip hop board. Here are the ones at the top of my list:

Nas, AZ, Wu, Biggie, Pun, Gang Starr, Cormega.

Honorable mentions: Big L, Pete Rock and CL Smooth, Crooked I and the Slaughterhouse crew.

As you can see I'm mostly a 90s EC fan.

Growing up in NY, my cousin put me onto the Wu and Biggie, so I'm with OP re: 90s EC hip-hop.

Nas, Cam/Dips, Wu, DITC, Three 6 Mafia, Kanye, Jay, Black Moon. My GOAT producers are Primo, Alchemist, and DJ Paul/Juicy J. Haven't been keeping up like I used to since Lupe was a newcomer. A lot of these new rappers are trash and/or uninspired, but heard some dope songs from J Cole, Joey Bada$$, and even Drake. Just can't rock with the industry plant era like that.

I will try to not repeat what everybody else said (we have some great taste in here .) but of the new school I really only rock heavy with Big Krit (my fave by far), Anderson Paak (if we can consider him hip hop) and Kendrick (when he does drop something). I do mess with TDE (except for Ab Soul) Big Sean, and Cole too on occasion


As for old school, it's Biggie/Kast/Nas/Cube/Pac/Cam and a whole laundry list of others all day.

Ice Cube is my favorite emcee of all time, N.W.A and the artists from their tree. I'm a 90's Westcoast Gangsta rap product. Listen to everything these days but that's the stuff I'll be yelling "you youngsters don't know nothing bout this!!" about at kids, nephews etc one day.

I somehow still turned out alright despite what C Delores Tucker and others assumed people like me wouldn't

But off top I can say Nas & Tribe are currently my top two hip hop acts right now.

You can fit Cube, Public Enemy, Gang Starr, Pete Rock & CL Smooth, Wu, Jeru, X-Clan etc etc to fill out the rest

Plus old No Limit, Three Six and Cash Money

Production wise it's Timbo, Premo, Neptunes, Pete Rock, RZA and Dilla.

I've been mainly listening to R&B these days so I couldn't tell you what I've been bumping lately. Trying to practice New Edition choreography brings out the sweat
