Let me provide some insight here pals:

I'm a year into my professional wrestling career and at this point, didn't know when to speak up due to enjoying being paid for beating the crap out of short people (compared to when I was doing it as a bouncer for free). The era featured, to put it bluntly, bullshyt cartoon characters or jobs (like IRS). Now, Jim Ross and other people in WCW knew that I played high school ball with Magic Johnson and crossed up Jordan so bad during a practice in late October 1985 that he broke his ankle a couple days later against the Warriors, so I was expecting some sort of athletic/basketball gimmick after the Master Blasters. Instead, I'm told that I'm going to be fukking Oz, based on a kids book that's 90 fukking years old at this point. Thankfully when Kevin Sullivan (who was my Manager when I was Oz) was on his way out, he told me I deserved better and encouraged me to speak up, which I did and why I didn't accept a low-ball offer they made me. I told them this gimmick was fukking garbage, and thankfully they came up with something (Vinnie Vegas), that has at least been relevant within that time frame.

Long story short, Shockmaster is memorable. I still shudder as my time as Oz.

They always miss these big spots in WWE btw. Pretty sure they’re aiming for the crash pad and not the person.

Knight likely was in the wrong spot. This was on him, not the howdy guy.

They mask these spots with camera angles. It was cool 20 years ago but you can’t really get away with that shyt with modern technology these days

Think you got the wrong thread pal.

Then again, no camera angle whatsoever could make the Oz gimmick work. I could have hit my legendary 1080 powerbomb and the WCW cameras at that time would have shown the fukking absurd cape I had to wear.

Damn, these two coulda ended up in the finals with each other.

Oz tho'. Nash was bad enough in the role, but them adding Kevin Sullivan as the Wizard solidifies it.

A glittered stormtrooper mask. A fukking painted stormtrooper mask in a mainstream wrestling company. That's all.
