The Syrian Civil War isn't a genocide. It is a multi-factional sectarians war that has every major power involved in. There are Sunnis that support Assad who from the wealthy areas of Syria(Aleppo, Damascus etc). The Syrian revolt was started by Sunni rural areas who hated the Baathist regime who ignored them economically. They failed because they never could unite and fell for internal fighting.
