MC Eiht Explains Why 2pac Was Fired From 'Menace II Society'
By Daryl Nelson 2 days ago

Tupac
being fired from the '90s film Menace II Society has been well-documented. And now MC Eiht has given his take on why he was terminated from the Hughes brothers-film.

"The Hughes brothers worked all of Pac's earlier sh*t," said Eiht on Talib Kweli's People's Party podcast. "'Brenda Got a Baby,' all that sh*t. So they knew him [and] knew he was difficult to work with, but I think New Line [Cinema] wanted him in the movie. 'Juice,' 'Poetic Justice,' you know, and y'all have a relationship with him ... We'll get him in the movie. I don't think it was the plan to keep him in the movie. We all know Pac, very vocal, very outspoken."

"He wanted to understand why he was being Sharif," Eiht continued. "Why is Eiht the banger? Larenz is the banger, Caine is the banger, why I got to be the voice of reason?"

Pac wanted more of a backstory to be told as to why his character was so different from the others.

So the late rapper refused to read his script at table readings and kept questioning why he was playing Sharif. He was eventually fired and the character was played by Vonte Sweet.

I think he would’ve done well as Shariff :yeshrug: but if I was the director I definitely would’ve cast him as Cain. Him and O-Dog in that movie side by side playing the parts?

Tyrin Turner gave the greatest film performance in the history of movies. He should won the Oscar, everyone knows this. While I’m a huge Pac fan, he was not needed in this, as it’s proven to be the only true perfect movie in the history of movies. It was no way for it to be improved.

The original studio gangster.
It got him killed. Pac had no business hanging around gang bangers and jumping crips. If he had lived, he’d be in the same place as Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, Diddy, Jay, and all of the others. He could have lived a long and happy life but choose to die over bullshyt.
