He is neither the greatest nor the most influential. What he is is the most popular. He has the widest appeal. Many people, both in and out of hip hop, are 'fans' of Tupac because it's the safe and popular choice, and because he's the posterboy for 'rebellion'. Many musicians, and sadly many rappers, praise him to the heavens because he has a huge fanbase, and by associating themselves with his image the hope they can leech off some of that popularity.

Safe choice? Hmm..that's a new one. Gotta love 2013. Hear new quips every year on a topic that never ends.

Pretty much

:ehh:

He is that safe choice and to add on to that..saying u arent much of a fan of his is career suicide.

This takes me back to when I was in junior high school and me and the rest of the 92 babies in my class were arguing who were the best rappers ever and how it was always between Biggie and Pac and the funny thing was none of these guys prolly listened to Pac or BIG when they were alive but they were told to believe that they were the greatest and that any other choices were ridiculous.

EVen as a lil 6th grader I was still reppin for da gawd MC in those arguments :salute:

There's no saying shyt like that. It's how it went down. He clowned an entire coast and they went ghost. Was hard to find. Missing in action. Didn't do jack shyt until after he was dead and claimed they had a million battle records in them. Nygga was shytting on their health issues, calling out slores, and doing all kind of fukked up psychological shyt and they did NOTHING. Period. Junior Mafia made it seem like they had some real shyt ready but they didn't and disappeared completely after BIG died:laugh:

Shooting a nygga from behind or hiding behind bushes isn't gonna look strong to the majority. Maybe some little creep project nygga but the streets? Nah...he shytted on them HARDER afterwards and they tucked their tails and wanted it to stop because it was "getting out of hand" A ballerina did all of that..just in case you forgot.

:takedat: put that bread up which eventually lead to his death.

2Pac - Before and After - Too Nice - YouTube

Pac wasn't fake in the same way Rick Ross is fake, but he was very contradictory. And all of his life he was ruled by his emotions, especially his ego. That's feminine. Men should think with their heads, not their egos.

And just to clarify: he didn't shoot 2 cops. He shot two drunk white guys who were harassing a black guy, and who later turned out to be off-duty cops. That's a big difference.

He obviously deserves respect for helping out a fellow human being(though in retrospect just threatening them with a gun might have sufficed), but his stans are acting like he was on some Toto Riina shyt, purposely going to war with the cops. If you actually think he would have done the same thing if those cops were in uniform, I have a bridge to sell you.

He did "just threaten", but they pistol whipped his windshield and busted out his windows...In turn, he literally shot them in the ass.Maybe the safest/ most non lethal area to take a slug to the body.Kept it funky, yet professional

When this thread is no longer mentioned or upped,2pac will still be the GOAT to more people than any other rapper before or after him. Young people just reaching jr high will hear of him from older siblings, internet etc and they'l become believers too. Hater's attempts are futile. Music was too real and too great to be outshined by anyone we've ever heard. If pac is ever out shined it will be by a "greater fan of him" as he put it. That fan will be grateful for pac's greatness and bring their young fans to his catalog and the cycle will keep going. :dj2: :umad: :pacspit: :pachaha:
