Just serve the food on plate and go, running salt down your forearm is definitely not passing a health inspection either. show one other place in america where this is normally done.

This is more a function of culture than sexuality. Brehs in Ethiopia literally feed each other and it's not an affront to anyone's sexuality.
I don’t think the two are mutually exclusive. Western culture sexualizes everything. Music, dancing, social media, food... everything is a damn sexual experience. This guy (the chef) in particular sexualizes the cooking/food serving techniques with women and it’s all over the internet. Why would a straight man want to participate in an (INTENTIONALLY) perceived sexual activity with another man?
