It's interesting how their parents left these neighborhoods in droves from the 50s-70s, and now their kids are moving back. There is nothing that can really be done about it in my opinion, even though Bill de Blasio is more understanding than Bloomberg on these issues, he's not just going to tell white people that they're not allowed to move into Bed Stuy and Bushwick.
At this point, I believe that NYC blacks who can afford it should try to become homeowners in places like Long Island now that the price is about the same (possibly even cheaper) depending on what town, this way generational wealth is built, and their kids have a guaranteed place to live without having to worry about rising rent from gentrification.
On that note, I wonder if cacs will ever make it into Southeast Queens. For some reason I just can't see a bunch of cac yuppies living in Rosedale and Cambria Heights but I would have said the same thing about Bushwick years back.
