It's been right under our noses the whole time... but in light of his new album, let us look at the facts:
Career beginning: Comes out of nowhere and signs with Fall Out Boy's independent, hipster cac record label. Immediately gets his songs on video games Need For Speed and Madden, releases hit single "Coconut Juice" with Travie McCoy, who was one of the top pop rap artists at the time. Ironically, his debut album was all "clean" and even Coconut Juice was about the fact that he didn't drink alcohol at parties and instead drinks coconut juice
It's clear that at this point in his career, he's being marketed as a "safe", family-friendly rapper.
Urban switch: After gathering his cac fanbase, he immediately switches to an urban tip and somehow hooks up with Chris Brown, getting on Breezy's big comeback single "Deuces". That leads into a contract with Young Money, gets on the big single Bedrock and then gets a ton of Lil Wayne features when Wayne is at the peak of his popularity. After starting his career as a "clean, coconut juice drinking" rapper he is now making songs about being faded and taking molly.
Today: Leaves Young Money, but still keeps his name in the news by hooking up with one of the most powerful families in entertainment and dating Kylie Jenner. This lets him get public co-signs and "production" from Kanye West.
Co-Signs: The following musicians at one point or another have co-signed Tyga, or guest appeared on his tracks: Kanye West, Nas, Drake, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, Rick Ross, Future, Game, 2Chainz, Wiz Khalifa, Jadakiss, Big Sean, Pharrell, Busta Rhymes, T-Pain, Robin Thicke, Wale, J. Cole, Boosie Badazz, Fall Out Boy.
TL;DR: Swagless, talentless rapper comes literally out of nowhere to sign with one of the biggest rock bands in music, then switches up to sign with the biggest label in the rap game, immediately starts getting co-signs by basically every big rapper in the game, and then makes tabloid headlines by dating one of the biggest reality stars in the world. This is a man that has literally had everything at his disposal to make a dent as a mainstream rapper but has still not been accepted by the music listening public.
