U-God is straight comedy
I literally have never seen a more bitter rapper
'as with all this shyt, its just my opinion'
Lamont Hawkins, Mayor of Not Giving A fukk, USA
u-god wouldn't know a dope beat to save his solo career
is his book available as an audiobook? i'd love to listen to it.
He is a little bit right. Rza had a few jems after forever but not like the early days.
It was either Triumph, The Jumpoff, or Uzi ...I can't remember...but I remember Meth saying how everybody in the Wu was feeling that beat except "the same nikka that don't never like nothing"
My favorite rza beat outside wu tang clan
".....and then NAS came along..... "
i liked the w and iron flag iron flag a bit less though, i thought the w was dope and still bang joints from that album.
the issue is, neither of those albums created songs that could touch the mainstream and carry the albums which creates the energy and uniqueness of what wu tang was able to accomplish, because although they were gritty mcs with a back pack sound, they were still successful at making smash records that could hit the radio like protect your neck, cream, triumph, its yours, etc. and i think that is what everyone, even the wu themselves were waiting for. those smash records. all they songs sounded like they only could accomplish being great on the album.
honestly, and I know it goes against whatever....
but if they got a bunch of... even SUPERproducers, they'd prolly all turn in their interpretation of Wu sounding beats.
The W and RZA's legacy as a producer just that strong.
You could prolly ask Toomp Berg and Mustard for beats for a Wu album, they're gonna have karate movie scenes and shaw brothers score samples over some 808s.
The W is excellent to most of us big time fans, i feel its a rounded record with a fun single. some people dislike it, and cite Gravel Pit and Conditioner. thats fine, but i think it sells the album short
thats why ive never been as enamored with a non-RZA WTC album. i agree with your theory
the others have earned the right to get that at this point, so we'll see what Ghost has for it. but i do think many legendary producers would just do a Wu Element impression instead of doing what they do
remember Dame Grease pulling this shyt? dont even sound like him or RZA lol
Radioactive from Iron Flag
