a lot of individual chinchilla hides go into making a single chinchilla coat


on average around 140+ pelts (200ish if it's a full length coat 35in-40in) to make up the torso bodice, sleeve etc etc


imo

leather from an actual ostrich
chinchilla fur
sea otter fur
shearling from a merino sheep
wool from a cashmere goat


and certain fox furs are the hardest textiles to source. they are true luxury textiles.

the animals they are sourced from are either rarities or endangered.

Burberry has a monopoly on the cashmere goat game. G/l getting suppliers for that.
