U.S. economy only adds 73,000 jobs in July 2025; Big downward revision (258,000 jobs!) for previous two months; Trump fires Commissioner of BLS

Are the tariffs and federal government cuts hurting?

Really can’t wait to see what happens post Trump. I mean you got people lining up trying to do their best Trump impressions out here to win offices.. the problem with that is. YOU AIN’T TRUMP! After all this bullshyt happens. I’m wondering what 2028 looks like.
Yep. This party knows that you can’t depend on that crazy unhinged 33% of the electorate without him or his stamp of approval.

I had a thread where people were on a Zoom call and were told their retirement portfolios were getting decimated but were still like “It’s going great!” off that pure copium :mjlol::heh:

Literally Next President will have to go on a Global Kiss the Ring tour. Like how do you correct this AND still make progress and compete? Like USA is Blessed that we are soooo at the top that even with the fukkery we are "ahead" of others" but this shyt isn't sustainable with how fast things are going now.

Ford has been injured the most by Trump’s tariffs. They build most of their products within the United States, but Ford and their suppliers buy most of the raw materials for those parts from outside of the United States. That is why you can count on there being massive upcoming layoffs across the Country because all of this stuff has ripple effects. If Ford, GM, etc, lay off people then their suppliers will also layoff people. If all of those people are laying off people then businesses like Walmart, restaurants, banks, etc., are going to start laying off people. If those groups are laying off people then local and State governments will start laying off people, because there will be less sales tax revenues for their operations. Trump and the Republican party have already began cutting the safety net programs so this will be bad but this is what this Country voted for..

Yeah, this has honestly ruined this country’s reputation globally.

In the eyes of many countries now they can say we’re inconsistent. They can’t point to us as a reliable country who can be trusted as we can change our stance drastically every four years because most of our voter base are idiots.

These countries can’t afford to fall behind in an era like this and having a country bring inconsistent results and demands is very damaging to progress.

Yeah like even if you say yean this was on trump folks will be shook every election cycle. In a post cold world lens i cant think of anyone who pulled what trump has with foreign policy, id argue both sides were pretty consistent on concepts even if implementation methods differed

No your misinformed, countries are looking away from America because America is broke, well the western countries in general don’t got the money or man power to rule with a iron fist, America always been consistently fukking over countries along with the other western nations

Because of brics countries got another option now, and that’s been the case before the first trump administration, and literally every administration been following this warpath all you got to do is look and see who been in these cabinets in every presidential administration and who these people affiliated with and what ideals they have

This reputation reliability shyt you taking about is not what’s been happening

This shyt is bigger than Donald trump I don’t know what y’all been reducing worldly matters to him, this why American politics among citizens is the way it is cause y’all been brainwashed to look at it in a goofy way

Trump and the current administration are only making things worse then. Dude is shyt when it comes to foreign policy (really most policy).

This administration is setting back this country internally and externally. That’s my point. Dude is not improving things one bit. If those were already problems this current administration is making it all worse.

They won't even be the top 10% engineer. That's a job that they'll get an Indian or Chinese man to do, then kick his ass out when his H1B visa expires.

The good thing about all this automation and displacement is that people won't have anything to lose anymore. Can't threaten to fire someone for protesting or resisting in any way if they don't have jobs :mjlol:

The myth of progress is that politicians "gave" people the rights we take for granted like 5 day work weeks and the abolishing of slavery and child labor. That was all shyt that was FORCED to happen as a result of public pressure and a willingness to take direct action. They didnt want what happened in Russia to happen in America so concessions were made. The continuing humiliation of the average American worker will eventually reach its zenith. Democrats want to be the defender of the status quo that caused this shyt instead of getting behind the young voices like Omar Fateh, Zohran Mamdani, Maxwell frost, David Hogg, etc. Who actually listen to their base and offer policy solutions that are popular. They refuse to believe that they could be wrong and out of touch so they double and triple down while scolding their own base for daring to want policies that help them instead of the CEOs of the companies they work for. :russ:

We are no different than Russia or China in that regard. And just like Stalin in the USSR, I'm sure he will fire or "investigate" anybody that gives a report he doesn't like even if it's true and its needed info.

With this little amount of transparency, I'm hesitant to invest in this country anymore. I'm looking at European markets like the Ftse , dax, and even the TYO if Trump is cooking the books in America. The foundation of the of the NYSE and NASDAQ is reliable govt regulators and statistical agencies.

And this is me saying this as a normal person. Imagine what institutional investors like pension funds, mutual funds, insurance companies, and sovereign wealth funds will do. I expect some serious asset flight. Maybe even more credit downgrades from Moody's and S&P
Facts. Investors HATE this type of business environment. Completely unpredictable and based on the whims of an emotional overgrown toddler. Ton of risk

Exactly.

I know in the past when the job market was weak the fed would lower interest rates to stimulate the job market to encourage business investment for growth but this current environment is completely self inflicted due to tarriffs. A sitting president shouldn't be a ransom variable in the calculations. There ain't no mathematical model to deal with that.

Powell needs a Trump entropy model
