U.S. economy only adds 73,000 jobs in July 2025; Big downward revision (258,000 jobs!) for previous two months; Trump fires Commissioner of BLS

Are the tariffs and federal government cuts hurting?

Under Trump you can't trust any government report. Remember the crap that he pulled during Covid when he said if you don't do the tests then they won't know? .

I'm getting all my news from a variety of independent journalists these days, cuz these networks be on that BS a lot of the time.

If these reports are used to guide policy and support business decisions, then he should have been fired for such bad initial data. In 2025 with AI, this antiquated method of posting jobs data then waiting 90 days for the adjustment is ridiculous.
Or
The labor director is yet another entrenched deep state plant hell-bent on undermining the administration and saving democracy.

Just kidding.

It’s one of those things that people will forget about by next week because some other crazy ass thing will happen but this will have long reaching effects.

We are no different than Russia or China in that regard. And just like Stalin in the USSR, I'm sure he will fire or "investigate" anybody that gives a report he doesn't like even if it's true and its needed info.

With this little amount of transparency, I'm hesitant to invest in this country anymore. I'm looking at European markets like the Ftse , dax, and even the TYO if Trump is cooking the books in America. The foundation of the of the NYSE and NASDAQ is reliable govt regulators and statistical agencies.

And this is me saying this as a normal person. Imagine what institutional investors like pension funds, mutual funds, insurance companies, and sovereign wealth funds will do. I expect some serious asset flight. Maybe even more credit downgrades from Moody's and S&P

"Ima vote for Trump cause he good with money! He's gonna make america great again!"

They fell for it again.

They didn't really "fall for it".

A lot of Trump voters just pretend they support Trump for economic reasons, but really vote for him for :mjpls: reasons which is why this type of stuff doesn't swing the needle with his supporters.

True, but I'd also say that because democrats accept republican framing instead of pushing back against it we end up here.

There are policy solutions to the problems that people assume fascism will solve. People across all ages, incomes, and races moved further to the maga side in the last election.

They believed that the reason housing was harder to get and more expensive was because of immigrants. They believed the reason they couldn't get a job was because of alphabet people and DEI. They believed the reason they couldn't get into college is because of affirmative action and diversity. They believed the reason things are more expensive is because the countries that export that stuff are "ripping us off". They believed the reason their streets weren't safe is because of black and latino gangs running amok because "woke" mayors are scared to look prejudiced.

What was the democrat response? Nothing really rooted in a serious policy prescription.

Crime goes down when people have access to healthcare, sex education, good schools, daycare, and rehabilitation if they're convicted and end up in prison.

Housing prices will go down when you limit how many properties an individual can own, institute an empty homes tax to discourage speculation and ban private equity firms from purchasing any real estate that ISNT commercial real estate like office buildings.

Job security increases when you ban stock buy backs and tax corporations that have more than 5% of their workforce automated or offshore.

Affordability increases when you raise the minimum wage and audit any company that tries to raise prices in return without cutting leadership pay packages or showing clear evidence that they've attempted in good faith to negotiate costs down.

College becomes more affordable when you tax people making more than 10million a year in profit and use that money to build a federal public college system and to provide subsidies for currently enrolled students.

The answer is never "kill/deport X number of people" that has literally never worked anywhere. The bad conditions will still persist and there will be less people to organize and resist those conditions. If white workers didn't eventually agree to have solidarity with black workers, weekends and sick days still wouldn't be a thing. The fascist idea that all your problems are the result of someone who looks and sounds different from you has never actually worked to bring prosperity to a nation. Argentina refused immigration and killed as many of its black people as it could, look how well that shyt turned out for them. Japan and Korea both are racist as Hell for the most part and look at what's happening to its birth rates. Them mfs are going to be a majority senior country within the lifetime of the youngest coli posters. Israel, an ethnostate cannot exist without weapons from America which are paid for by an increasingly broke and in debt American public.

The democrat leadership isn't ready to actually put through those policies because their donors would lose too much money so all they'll do is babble about means tested bullshyt that works on less than 25% of the population while trying to tell you that anyone who actually does want to work in your interests is a far left idealist who doesn't live in reality.

@the cac mamba is loving these reports. This is the type of progress he was longing for when he stumped for Trump all last summer and fall :blessed:
:russell: i voted for Kamala, dikkhead

better save that smoke for the Dearborn Muslims. they just couldn't vote for her, for some reason :mjpls:

i've noticed Trump has made their choice look real good in hindsight :mjlol:
