U.S. economy only adds 73,000 jobs in July 2025; Big downward revision (258,000 jobs!) for previous two months; Trump fires Commissioner of BLS

Are the tariffs and federal government cuts hurting?

These revised numbers are going to blow all of that up. 14,000 jobs in June? :skip:
It won't matter, because inflation is what has them worried and it is trending too high. It all Trump’s fault anyway, because he has been cutting taxes and cooking the books and the Federal Reserve Chairman and nem are not going to bail him out because we will be looking at Argentina level of inflation if they did. Stagflation is a worry for the economists.

I will bet my account.. I will take a life time ban if you want. We are getting a rate cut. I believe one of the BIGGEST reasons Trump wanted to gut federal jobs was to force a cut. His economy will NEVER shift the direction he wants without the cuts.

I never thought we’d be at the point where the president cooks the employment numbers. We always assumed the president would have the best interests of the court and would not juke economic stats since it’s in everybody’s best interest to have clarity.

Boy was I wrong.

Leaving this here so that it doesn't get memory holed that ADP said we lost jobs last month.
Yeah I remember that ADP report and after the jobs report came out I commented then on how Trump had cooked the books, because ADP and Labor Department stats are not normally that far off. Sure enough May and June jobs numbers were revised doward by 258,000 jobs. So in May Trump said that there was 144,000 new jobs created, but in reality there was only 19,000 new jobs created. In June he claimed that there was 147,000 new jobs created, but in reality only 14,000 new jobs was created.

So ADP was right, then that means that the economists are right too. We are already in a recession, and the fact that consumer spending, inflation and the devastation of Trump's tariffs are just now taking hold then people should start implementing some sound fiscal practices because we are looking at massive job losses in the very near future.

Said it before but wait til October when all those federal workers who took the DRP aren’t getting paid to just sit at home anymore. I’ve had 3 people close to me since this admin started lose their jobs in different areas. 2 still looking for something. shyt will get worse.

ADP actually shows job gains in the private sector of 104,000. So this means 30,000 government jobs were lost in July alone for the BLS numbers to be 74,000.:damn:

You can bet anything you want. Iam telling what the Feds concern is. Their concern is inflation. I attached an article about it. And don't try to change the reason Trump fired Federal workers. He fired them on that deep state project 2025 bullshyt to find savings to extend the tax cuts.

An increase of 46,000 jobs in hospitality and leisure points to high school and college kids getting part time Summer jobs in places like amusement parks, golf courses, swimming pools and hotels/resorts, etc. A few other areas also point to seasonal type hiring. So private hiring in July is not as solid as it appears either.
