This is how it used to be. I used to do these kinds of summer jobs. They paid better than McDonalds too. When I was in college kids would go work the summer harvests and make enough money to pay for college and rent for the year.

This is how it used to be. I used to do these kinds of summer jobs. They paid better than McDonalds too. When I was in college kids would go work the summer harvests and make enough money to pay for college and rent for the year.

It's more beneficial in the long run for kids to take internships and other work that will help progress their career long term once leaving college over just taking work. Especially considering the flexibility of student loans.

That said, I knew friends who did work in the summers after college and they chose to pick my lucrative fields like working Alaskan fishing boats to pay for their life during the school year.

That said, none of them work in a field related to their field of study or even requiring college.
