American business owners sure do like to hire undocumented immigrants.

I wonder if they'd treat their black employees better.:PatriceTrump:

Maybe the chicken did come before the egg. :PatriceTrump:
:pachaha:@ you thinking they’d have a choice.

That said, I’m sure cracking down on these employers and leaving undocumented workers unable to work and provide will hurt trumps agenda.:mjlit:

They really should have kept that program in place. Immigrants can come in and work seasonally and then return home with their savings which would most likely be way more than anything they can earn back home.

The link places the issue on self reporting by those harmed.

Coincidentally, this is the same mechanism that's supposed to keep them from hiring illegal immigrants in the first place.

It's just another example of preying on a vulnerable population.

In right to work States they'd just be fired for speaking out - - as they already are - - leading to the culture we currently have.

Businesses should be required to file here and face steep consequences for not self reporting hospitalizing their employees.

Maybe they need a union.

I’m sure reducing employment opportunities for undocumented migrants will result in favorable outcomes for one side of the debate...
:mjlit:
Which side remains to be seen...

I wonder how unionizing and getting a good wage would change ag? :jbhmm:
I wonder if the “Americans won’t do these jobs” argument will hold up at $20-$30/hr with benefits...

:pachaha:They might fukk around and be displaced by Americans if they drive too far down them progressive streets.

I'm not sure there's a disagreement over the need to lower the amount of undocumented workers.

I do think there is a stark contrast on how each side comes to that conclusion.

Who do you find to be more of a problem?

People who are hired illegally or those who seek to hire illegal workers at the expense of legal workers? :sas1:

:hubie:Only issue I see is that there are undocumented persons in/entering the country.
If they decide to leave home, break the law(by entering or staying) then voluntarily agree to work for penny’s in terrible conditions that’s on them.

It’s must of been better than their other options and improving the terms of their employment runs the risk of removing the option altogether... which I’m sure if asked, the majority are not in favor of.

In my opinion, giving people with few options even fewer options rarely helps...

The solution is to go back to farm worker visas. We used to have a program in place where temp workers were moved around seasonally, did their work, when they were done they went home. Could change up how its done but the visa idea seems most reasonable to me

When my dad was younger he went to one of the carolinas I think it was to help build a barn on a tobbaco farm. He said it still looked like slave labor out in the fields

It's more beneficial in the long run for kids to take internships and other work that will help progress their career long term once leaving college over just taking work. Especially considering the flexibility of student loans.

That said, I knew friends who did work in the summers after college and they chose to pick my lucrative fields like working Alaskan fishing boats to pay for their life during the school year.

That said, none of them work in a field related to their field of study or even requiring college.

:francis:

Had a friend in college he was an Afghanistan refugee, went up to Alaska to work the fishing boats and was making bank that fool never came back :mjlol:
