50% of your salary should be allocated to your needs, such as housing, groceries and transportation;
30% toward wants like entertainment and hobbies
20% toward paying off debt, saving or investing.
So if you make 100k, after taxes, you're lucky to see 70
let's call it 72 to make the math easy.
You net 6K a month
3000 - covers the rent AND car note, insurance, groceries, laundry, health insurance.
1800 - covers hoes and hobbies and all your proclivities.
1200 - pays off loans, saving, investing.
But a lot of people are thinking about living in the suburbs, gated community, that expensive car, etc etc
But if a man and woman both bringing in 50k each, there are neighborhoods that u can live comfortably..
