Ceyonne Riley was delivering food for Uber Eats when she was shot twice, once in her shoulder and again in her head, the station reported. Paramedics brought Riley to a hospital, and she died from her wounds July 2, a spokesman for the Orleans Parish coroner said.
“How do you explain to a 6-year-old that her mother is not going to return home,” her mother, identified only as Tyonne, told the station.
Riley is the latest casualty in a wave of interstate shootings in New Orleans over the past several months. She is one of at least 15 people who have been shot on I-10 and I-610 so far this year, according to police.
