I could see amazon/meta making a play for them.

Microsofts hands are tied right now, sony and nintendo aren’t gonna buy a big western publisher.

I think it’d be weird with tencent buying another major western publisher but who knows

Would make sense to save their money and try and buy take two. Makes more sense financially than Ubisoft

Naw thats a waste. It’s pretty much a guarantee that buying a major publisher is gonna come with conditions to keep their big games multiplatform. Stuff like 2k and GTA will most likely stay multiplat. It really doesn’t make a lot of financial sense.

Sony already has larger market share than microsoft, they aren’t gonna be able to buy a major western publisher without concesssions. They are doing fine just growing their first party studios and buying up their smaller partners. If they make a big play its gonna be for something like a CDPR, Remedy, or a smaller Japanese publisher, sub 1000 employees size
