This is Vitor’s last UFC fight. Vitor and the guy that put a UFC VHS tape in the Royal Rumble box at Blockbuster back in 1999 are the sole reasons I’m a fan of the sport today.

I can’t put into words how much happiness and heartbreak watching him fight has brought me through the years. Saturday is going to be an emotional night

@storyteller I am not entertained :francis:

PPV is missing a main event and the FX card is missing a closer (I like Alves from the Fight Pass portion more than most guys on the televised card). I like some of the fights, but it ain't worth my money when I'll be tuned in to Lomachenko/Linares for a chunk of the paid portion. Side note: Verizon didn't let me DVR the last PPV either which is some BS too.

We may have to do a podcast to complain about the direction of the UFC at this point (to be fair plenty of content opportunities coming when fight week happens at least).

Looking over this card, I think it's not a bad one for people who bet the underdogs. Kelleher has a shot if he commits to his takedowns, Souza started looking like he's in decline and his footwork ain't really there if Gastelum's gas tank can hold (no guarantees there), Dern and Cooper is a toss up to me because Dern's takedowns didn't look great but Cooper's ground game is like the average UFC fighter's circa the original UFC where half of the guys didn't know there was such a thing as ground game. Even Vitor or Lyoto has a small upset chance because Lyoto's chin is gone and Vitor has about 20 seconds of burst to get lucky. I like Nunes over Pennington but the odds are way off on that one, I think it's a closer fight than the +625 I'm seeing.

This card is getting unfairly shytted on. Sure it’s not as exciting as the next three but there are gems on here. The main should be solid even tho is uneventful as fukk. KG and Jacare is an interesting clash of styles. Kheller vs Lineker should be violent. Dern needs to shine here. Cooper is ok but she’s flawed, especially with her defensive wrestling/grappling. If Dern is struggling like she did against Yoder she needs to take several months off and seriously refine her game. Interesting in Alves, Albini, and mutante on the undercard. All in all this may not be 60 bucks PPV worthy, especially with lom fight and Bellator. But this definitely better then 220 to 222

Least cared about card in 2018 so far? Including Fight Nights maybe even..

I only realized today Gastelum/Jacare were on this card and that Vitor would fight Machida..
:hubie:

Just Nunes since she pulled out of that fight with lame excuses, her ridiculous post-fight in ring interview after beating down Rousey which was 0,0 class and how the judges gave her that belt when she finally had to face The Bullet.. and on top of that her annoying ass always non-stop present girlfriend.. and then there's Pennington who made a pretty ok impression against Miesha Tate but it was Tate's last fight AND she knew she would stop fighting before stepping in the Octagon.. how that got her a title fight when we all just want to see 1 fight (Nunes - Cyborg) beats me. Very underwhelming Main Event. I hope Pennington beats the breaks off this arrogant girl, but it's very unlikely. Nunes moves well, has a good jab, can be agressive, can hit hard at times.. she's in Brazil, it would have to go very odd if this goes the distance that she loses that belt.

Is Jacare vs Gastelum for the #1 contender spot for after Whitaker and Romero fight?

Yes the Main Event isn't the co-main event on a really good card... I hope the other fights deliver. Maybe John Lineker's fight - I read that that could be a good one on MMA Mania.

Are you brehs doing a UFC podcast?

Kelleher's definitely one of the more intriguing names on the card to me, type of guy that could take Lineker out with a good gameplan. We preview a lot of PPV's for podcasts, just skip the weaker ones. Give us a listen fam, it's fun to do and I think we've been pretty solid on predictions and covering recent MMA news.

Soon as I saw Dern at the ceremonial weigh in I knew damn well she wasn't making that weight. She says she doesn't like getting hit in the face so she may not be long for this game. Cooper looks like she has pretty good hands but all her losses are by sub, so if Dern can get her down it might be over quick.

This is Raquel's first fight since Nov 2016, not good to be fighting someone like Amanda with such a long layoff.

I got Machida finishing Belfort within 2

I got Gastelum by KO, if Whitaker handled him so easily standing no reason Kelvin won't do the same.
