99% of fighters are going to say they can fight no matter what

refs and doctors certify for a reason. don't even think that's some crazy stance either lol. this was sloppy shop straight up - not the first clusterfukk tonight either
But like you said he didn’t say anything, which in my mind he was leaving it up to the docs to call it. And the doc probably deferred to what he thought fighters would want. Idk. I honestly think holland wanted out and he wanted the refs to call it for him so he didn’t seem like a quitter :yeshrug:

I can’t speak to the rest of the card

Real talk guys, if you’ve ever taken a shot to the groin with one of those cups then you know it HURTS.

And no, it wasn’t Mallot’s knee that hit Kevin groin. His knee landed just above it(which still hurts) and to the right. It was his SHIN that slammed into Kevin’s groin, which is still illegal, and which explains the impact Dan heard.

Yes, a cup provides a measure of protection. But if you’ve been hit with one on before then you KNOW that it isn’t always direct impact to your balls that floors you, it’s the cup itself that gets slammed into all your underlings with the force of a knee/kick, THAT’s what drops you to your knees.

And that’s likely what incapacitated Holland and if you don’t know to look for that type of contact you will miss it.

if he says nothing - then the doctor and ref should've stopped it lol. both had clear opportunities and justifications to do so at different times. whether he wanted out or not is never something i argued

I agree, and ultimately this is the problem with mma reffing, judging and doctors. And fighters
