Today, April 15, 2015, is the deadline for filing federal income tax return and that deadline has been intact for years. Apparently Tax Day means nothing to Nas because he’s being accused of owing hundreds of thousands to the IRS but is refusing to pay.

The Jasmine Brand is reporting that the 41-year-old Hip-Hop legend the Georgia Department of Revenue a total of $276,439.80 in unpaid state taxes since 2006. Since a 2009 lien did nothing to rattle the Illmatic star into parting ways with his pennies, the Department of Revenue is looking to seize any assets that they can to collect their pay.

Even without releasing an album in nearly three years, the rapper born Nasir bin Olu Dara Jones has been very active on the scene. He spent much of 2014 celebrating the 20th anniversary of his aforementioned debut album, including a re-release and a nationwide tour to promote a documentary associated with it.

But like a true slickster, documents filed in Georgia on April 3 have concluded that the Department of Revenue’s investigation on Nas have come up empty as they have found no property of assets to seize. That doesn’t mean the Nas unpaid taxes soap opera is over; the Department of Revenue is looking for other means to unlock their swag.

The State of Georgia is rooting for Nas to make a fortune on his concert tour … because the government just got the green light to garnish a MILLION BUCKS from his earnings to repay a massive tax debt … TMZ has learned. The Georgia Department of Revenue has filed new legal docs in their effort to collect $1,083,435 from the rapper for taxes it claims Nas owes for the years 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010.

Rather than wait on Nas to pay up, concert promoter Live Nation reportedly got forced to withhold fully paying him for his shows.

According to court docs, the GDR obtained an order commanding Live Nation — the promo company behind Nas’ tour with Lauryn Hill — to garnish his wages until the dept is satisfied. The tour is currently underway, and Nas– who’s also on the hook for millions in unpaid taxes to the federal government — is sure to make a boatload of money. A rep for Nas tells us the matter has recently been settled — but the GDR insists the case is still open and they’re trying to collect. Pay your taxes, people

Remember that lecture he did last year where he talked about investing in around 20 start-up companies in Silicon Valley? lol.
