Background and Events leading up to getting the Vasectomy
Growing up I always knew that I didn’t want kids and once I found out what a vasectomy was I knew I wanted one. Once I turned 18 I tried to get one but everybody I asked refused to do it so I gave up on getting it. Fast forward 3 years and I’m 21 knocking this female down and the condom breaks on me and I ended up getting this hoodrat pregnant. I was naive and didn’t even tell her the condom broke, thought I almost couldn’t get her pregnant as we had been having sex on and off for 3 years utilizing just the ‘pull out method’ and I was good (dumb I know). Regardless she hmu about a month later and turns out she was pregnant. After she told me I immediately stated “when are you getting an abortion”? She was hesitant at first but after a month of me on some savage $hit she ended up getting one thank GOD.
Anyway after she told me she was pregnant I thought to myself ‘bro, you can really make kids’ and I needed to put a stop to that. So I started looking more into vasectomies like the cost, down time, pain, etc. I next went to google and just searched up urology clinics in my area. The first office I called our convo went like this:
Me: Hi, I’m trying to get a vasectomy what do I have to do?
Office: Well you and your wife need to come in and have a consultation with our doctor to see if you qualify and then we will go from there
Me: I’m not married ma’am
Office: How old are you?
Me: 21
Office: Ahahaha no sir, you need to come back in a few years after a few kids and then we can talk.
I was like wtf. You mean I want a procedure to stop me from having my own kids and you won’t let me do it? Needless to say this same convo happen at least 20 other times before I had someone say “well just come in and talk to the doctor but bring your parent as you are not married”, so I took my mom. When I go to the office they told me I would need to pay $250 for the consultation. I then asked ‘how much would the whole process cost’? She said “$1000 which will include the consultation, procedure and any lab fees”. I paid the whole thing cash rite then as I didn’t want to wait on the insurance and have them possibly deny me. I figured that they would not want to refund me my money; they are a business of course.
Consultation with Doctor
I basically went in there and told the doctor how I didn’t want kids, what happened with me and the girl, about the abortion, and he just keep giving my mom that ‘really look’. He said a lot but specifically that “you know one day you are going to fall in love with someone and she’s going to want to have children with you”? I told him I’ll cross that bridge later. He was also hesitate as I was so young and didn’t have children but my mom vouched for me not wanted kids so he asked me when I wanted to do the procedure. I set an appointment for the next Friday so I could have that weekend off to recovery initially. On a side note, while you only have to be 18 for the procedure, but most doctors will not do it due to moral obligations regarding them doing a permeant procedure on such a young man.
The Procedure
If I can recall you had to shave your area beforehand. When I got to the office (with my mom again as you will need a ride home), I lay on the table and it’s this female in their preparing the area. She looked pretty good so I asked the doctor if she was going to be in the room during the procedure. Luckily he said no as it would have fukked up my concentration. It was just me and him in the room. So he said he’s going to numb up my testicles during the procedure. One at a time. You will get a shot in that vein that goes to your testicle. I was scared but it did not hurt at all, barley even felt it. He then poked me with a scalpel. I felt it a bit so he gave me another shot to numb it up completely. He did his thing down there and after about 10 minutes he was done with the right testicle then did the same on the left side. The whole procedure including prep time was about 30 minutes or so.
After The Procedure
The doctor’s office went ahead and phoned in my pain meds prescription to the CVS by my house. As I was riding home the meds started wearing off from the operation and my ball area started to feel some pain. Luckily my mom had some pain meds in her purse so I popped a few. My balls were swollen for the next few days and during this time I wore a jock strap or cup like thing which I wore for about 2 weeks. During that time I was on lite duty act work but if you have a office based job you will be ok to go to work.
You are advised to ejaculate 30 times to get the remaining sperm out of your system then go back in for a sperm count test so I ‘jacked off’ a lot over the next month. Went back and got the sperm tested and I suppose I had a zero sperm count. They just told me something like I was good. I didn’t have any papers or anything but I had no reason to not believe them. Fast-forward 5 years and I’m now 26. I went to get my sperm count tested earlier this year and they can me that same ‘you’re good’ response lol and I still don’t have any official papers saying ‘hey you have a zero sperm count’ but it’s all good. YES YOU STILL NUT. EVERYTHING IS THE SAME YOU JUST CAN’T IMPREGANTE SOMEONE.
Telling Females You Have a Vasectomy
I tell most females I have one if anything kid related comes up. She may ask “do you have any kids” and I’ll reply with “no I don’t, I actually have a vasectomy”. Believe it or not, I’m sure I have had sex with women based on just the fact that they can’t get pregnant by me. This makes for the best FWB relationships as a lot of females just don’t want to be on birth control but want to have a lot of sex (who am I to judge). Most females just say something like “you really don’t want kids huh” or “really, they let you get one”? Only one has something smart to say and she was the one with multiple kids and a single mother (we went on one date, don’t judge me).
Relationship Life
If you are trying to get in a serious relationship it’s going to hurt you as most people want kids. My last ‘real’ relationship lasted about 10 months or so and I straight up lied to her that I would get it reversed after marriage when really I just told her that as I know that’s what she wanted to hear.
Reversal Cost
I have seen prices as low as $5,000 up to about $25,00 with the average cost being about $10,000 so make sure this is something you want to do. Also after 10 years the chance for reversal drops substantially (I think under %50).
Unprotected Sex
I have had a lot of unprotected sex I can’t even lie but the older I get the wiser I have become as to not be raw dogging random’s. Now the only people I go raw in is my girlfriend if I’m dating or my consistent FWB. Random’s still get the condom treatment. I will say I get about 2 or 3 STD test a year on average.

Things I Would Have Done Differently
- Would have frozen sperm just in case I changed my mind later down the line. It only cost about $400 a year to freeze some sperm so it would have been a good insurance policy
- Lied to get one sooner. I figured if I would have lied about 18 or 19 and told them the same situation about me and the abortion I possibly could have gotten it sooner

have a kid or two.
I want my innocence back...life comes wit too much...
