this morning I was flipping through fb of some old hs friends. At the age of 20, Ive flunked out of university (After tranferring in with a 3.3 GPA from College) due to so called "burnout" and laziness. I'm back in school starting next year, and back to playing college basketball next year so Im on the right track. I saw some old classmates who I had been in AP classes with and who I had played HS football and basketball with, and I seen a couple guys who were interns at places like TX instruments and a couple guys who were wrapping up their division careers, and I just got the biggest rush of quiet motivation I ever Felt. It wasn't envy or jealousy, It was a genuine appreciation of their talents and hard work and realizing that the same people I was more physically and intellectually gifted than are farther ahead of me at this point in life. Sometimes It takes that little glance to the side to make you run a little faster. I just quietly told myself that I've come a long way and that I must do my thing in my own right and in my own time.

Anyone else had little moments like this in their lives and how did it propel you forward or how do you feel it will prepare you going forward.

i wasnt even Chem E then either

i had to give a damn just for the sake of giving a damn, you realize when you working a beat job why college is important just for the sake of making you marketable and important

when i went back in I had no passion but i knew i was doin engineering, speaking with professors personally and getting a few good grades here and there gradually got the ball rolling. But realistically I had to reteach myself how to be a student and with time ive come to the point that I know what I want specifically and I know what options I have to succeed. Its literally gotta be internal. You have to want to be better than you were yesterday. Complacency is what separates the go getters and the losers

keep it one hunnid, i hated college.

but what motivated me to continuing it and eventually graduating from college. i was homeless at one time in my life due to the decisions i had made. i said i would never go back to sleepin in storage units, shelters and eating fukkery stale food out of soup kitchens. That AINT LIFE. i vowed i wasn't gonna live like that no more and changed my surroundings. at the same time, alot of the homies i grew up with wasn't shyt. majority of them in jail or either at home smoking they mind out in front of they 20 kids.

it took me 6 years to complete college cause of financial situation but i did it.

if you going back to school, take advantage of that shyt. NETWORK with everyone and anyone you can.

Back in late 2007, I hadn't been to the gym in 6 months and was looking really :flabbynsick:. My wake up call came one day while trying on a shirt at a store and I saw my gut hanging over my pants in the mirror. Starting in early January of 2008 I was at the gym 4-6 times a week. I went from 187 in late 2007 to being 165 in July 2008 and have maintained ever since, nothing worse that being out of shape in your 20's.

No offense but you sound salty as fukk.

I'm in a rut right now, and I'm going through some shyt so my life is kind of on hold for a few months. I know that as soon as this bullshyt is over, I'm going to be on the come up.

Only thing that's messing with me is not being sure if I want what I used to want. I used to want to have money, girls, and be balling on all sorts of levels. Now I just want to live my life, go to school, go to work, and live simple.
