There's a remake on steam right now. Its kinda trash though.

Both Made by the same company yes; but I think if Rockstar made another Midnight Club it would be a lot more detailed and focused on the cars and racing mechanics

GTA is a crime/action game with some racing mixed in and Rockstar obviously focuses more on the action and crime more than the driving when It comes to GTA.
