I don't why you people continue to believe that just because a rapper has some "street" aura about him or that he is "authentic" that somehow his authenticity is what is making him gain a "buzz". Being hood isn't enough to get popular. Sure you can have a mixtape here or there but for the most part no rappers become famous or even quasi-famous in an "organic" matter. You can't get a "buzz" without some kind of machine pushing you. This is why I read all these posts about "label plants" or "industry plants" and laugh. For people who claim to love hiphop so much I'd assume you would understand the business side of it. I guess I was wrong.
Whites buy the albums and own the labels. Just like basketball, rock and roll and jazz. You might be the franchise players but at the end of the day, no matter how "hood" or "real" your favorite rapper is, he still depends on a whiteman to sign his checks or make him matter.
Common knowledge I'm sure but it seems to elude all the super stans on here.
