Unreleased J Dilla and Kanye West Collab Set to Be Released - XXL

J Dilla and Kanye West fans are really going to love this. As far as long-lost and recovered music goes, someone went hunting through MCA Records and hit the hip-hop jackpot.
Back when Dilla was signed to MCA from 2011 to 2003, he passed in a CD of work titled Middle Finger. Though this demo leaked and was sampled plenty of times, the project never had a chance to officially be added to the Detroit producer’s discography because it got shelved by label execs. When MCA ceased operation in 2003, the CD-R of Middle Finger was lost somewhere in it’s file piles. Now, more than 10 years later, someone has unearthed the music and is planning to sell it to only the most eager Dilla fans.
Described as a “major label leftover,” Middle Finger is set to be released to the public for the first time in limited quantities. Because the original CD-R was found damaged, the project will contain only two tracks. Kanye West’s “The Anthem” and an album version of “fukk The Police” featuring an alternate vocal track, were the only two tracks fully recovered from the trove. 1,000 hand-numbered 12-inch vinyl records of the two long-lost tracks will be on sale to the public beginning Wednesday, Oct. 5.
