North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
All politicians should be required to:

Have political science or economic degrees.

Take and pass courses in foreign affairs.

Completed a certain amount of hours in community service.

Thus is just for starters.

Running a government has nothing to do with running a business. there should be a sense a neutrality and separation. it's no wonder so many politicians or government officials get caught taking bribes and leaning on the wrong people to advice them.

Actually, until you take money out of politics, nothing will change.
@DEAD7 / @Aelyas en passant already addressed this on the podcast. Politicians will essentially just find another mechanism of doing the same thing, instead of money, will be favors....,The game is the game, just politics are usual.

I would and have felt this way since learning about life appointment in high school. No matter who is appointed, I don't need someone 2-3 generations removed making/interpreting laws in my world. And fukk ageism, any honest 75+ year old will tell you they aren't as sharp or quick as they were in their 20's-50's, the fukk we got 84 year olds still working and shaping the country for?

I would also say that they shouldn't be appointed, but I can't honestly expect America to care or be knowledgeable enough to vote on justices, so at least limit them their terms. 12-16 years is more than enough to provide stability while also allowing room for turnover.

Congress needs term limits to, should be 8 years - makes senate terms 4 years, house can go to 4 or stay 2 - like the pres
as easy as it sounds and as much sense as you make. the bad end of this if it were to happen is that . the campaigning would be worse than it already is. meaning if you know your time will be up much sooner than before. you have to get back out their on the campaign trail. if you're out on the campaign trail you aint actually doing what we voted you in for to begin with. You are campaigning 90% of tthe time. so we vote you in just for you to campaign to get voted in again. not actually doing policy work for the people.

This is whats already wrong with politics. too much campaigning and not enough actual work being done. it would get even worse with shorter terms(which i still agree with you on.) Something has to be in the rule book about campaigning.

ehhh, the house is elected every two years and it's not an issue, but yea, regardless of everyone being on a 2, 4, or 6-year term, i'm in favor of having term lengths in congress and the supreme court

To run for president legally, all you have to do is.

Be at least 35 (For House it's 25, for Sentate its 30)
Be naturally born in the U.S.
Be a U.S. resident for at least 14 years.

And that's it :mindblown:

No educational requirements.
No exams
No training
No nothing.

Now of course there are other unofficial standards but really it's about the money you raise. More importantly, the rest is superficial bullshyt like charisma, debating and other nonsense.

How can one call the U.S. president the most "powerful" person in the world or the "leader" of the "free" world when the criteria is bullshyt. Trump should've been eliminated from consideration before his initial campaign began.

Furthermore, these constitutional rules are outdated and needs to be amended. They have minimum age requirements but maximum :dahell:

And the Supreme Court needs to have term limits as well... and the fukking president shouldn't be able to pick who that judge should be.

The entire political system is outdated, not to mention one big clusterfukk.

Why would you support the creation of an official ruling class when the government was planned to be "of the people, for the people, by the people"? :dahell:

Because sometimes the people are idiots, as was proven this month.

Government of the nonracist people, for the nonracist people, by the nonracist people. Better.
