For all of you who remembered, i'd been working in DC in the IT field for 10 years making good money. I had saved up a lot of money and I was tired of the DC work scene and decided to move to Louisiana to be near my family and maybe start a business. I made the move this past July. As far as the business, it was too risky, hard to find a good location and money just isn't flowing well here at all. Honestly you need a team of people (investors) to help you start a business if possible. It's a lot to alone, but possible. I still have aspiration of starting a business someday, but I'll wait til an opportunity presents itself instead of trying to force it.

After months of trying to start a business, I fell back on that and started travelling the world and the US. Went to Turkey, France and Germany, DC about 5 times and to Atl a few times. I been eating and spending frivolously. With that said, I've seen my savings lose about 30k in the past 8 months. Most of that was for my business venture. Fukk it i guess. I still have a good amount left, but it's time to get back on the grind.

I start teaching middle school tomorrow, i'm taking a big pay cut, but at least I won't using my savings.
I'm going to give this a try for a month or so. If it doesn't work out well, I'm might be heading back to DC to stack up some more money and go back at it.

Thing is, I was miserable in DC and I had to leave to see what was what. When you aren't happy you have to try something to change you thoughts and feelings. I still don't like the DC vibe, but I might have to go back for the money.

Life is crazy my gz :whew:

See, this is why I called you out for being naive and ...frankly stupid.

You did no research, then when you had some free time, you fukked around and blew your time on bullshyt and entertainment.

All that downtime you should have spent hustling, you focused on "living it up" instead of grinding ...now you're teaching middle school and trying to figure your way out of this hole you're in instead of doing what you should have done from the start.

I can't salute your moves, nor can I pretend to congratulate you.

You're broke...and you fukked up.

Anyone could have told you that Louisiana would be a bad look, but you wanted to be stubborn about it.

Why is DC your only option of going back to the money?

If you're single with no commitments then pick 3 - 6 states and start looking for employment there.

@Stuntone dont u work in IT, u should be able to work anywhere. Dont go back to fukking DC, every time I go I hate it.

Like the other dudes said, cant you do the IT thing in a more more laid back spot thats still bustling like Dallas or some shyt?

I have a TS clearance and DC has a ton of Clearance jobs. Dallas is definitely a major option, but my clearance isn't as sought after. I still have a place to stay in DC, that's why I visit so much.

what business did you start?

Never really got anything off the ground. Once I start looking for a location and started the process, I realized this probably isn't a great ideas and timing wasn't too good. i was forcing it.

Expand upon the DC work culture thing, I'm ignorant to what you mean by that.

The young blacks in DC all try to be on some Black Elitist type shyt. A lot of fake boogie people. A lot of bragging about their careers and education. Clubs are wack, there are like costume parties, not much dancing, just dressing up and picture taking for social media. Not many down to earth people like in the south. Most of the really cool girls are in Md and VA. Dreadheads, weedhead types. Just a lot of the extremes here. Fake boogie or hood as hell. I don't mind real boogie girls that have always had it. Most of my ex's were born with money, but the fakes who just got a decent pretending to be Paris Hilton. I can't take it. I'm a hood dude that's new to a little change, but I aint boogie at all.

It's crazy bcuz a lot of Professional dudes mess with hood girls just to be around some type of realness.

Would also like to know what was bad about the DC work experience:feedme: I know it's a very career oriented "what do you do?" place but go on...
Dudes don't know how good they have it and think ever hare-brained idea is worth quitting their job and going into some bullshyt for the fukk of it so they can call themselves "entrepreneurs"

I'm all for creating businesses, but its not for the faint of heart and you shouldn't take all that money and effort and then blow it on bullshyt. then act surprised when it doesn't work out.

This dude wants to talk about his travels...but NOTHING about his business.

he was posting on here flexing win rented ferarris but not about how he was taking his business to the next step.

Not hearing any problems here.

All i'm reading is that you refuse to compromise and make the best out of an already amazing situation for yourself.

You're insufferable.

many schools 2-12 curriculum is a joke, other countries don't have all these extra curriculars they're focused on certain high demand areas... system needs a complete overhaul and we need to stop preaching "do what you love"from young...which is actually kind of sad :mjcry:
Computing is such a vital component in our lives today that I really do believe coding and other such skills will be mandatory soon

Ipads and such are already taking the place of pen and paper:wow:

You clowns are assuming a lot. I did a lot research, but when starting any new business for the 1st time there are a lot of unknowns. Ask any business that.

Say what you want but it take balls to make major moves. It's easy to sit quietly and grow old never attempting to do something special. I'm glad I did what I did. I had to do it, I had to learn and see for myself. I can't take the word of people that have never done shyt like you two. If i'm not happy or satisfied I'm going to make moves. Things might not work out exactly as planned but I'll bounce back. I'll never stop trying. I'm going to run a business some day.

Sometimes you gotta learn on your own. Dude still has some cash stashed so he'll be alright. But I agree, this should have been planned out much better.

:what:

I made a thread when I was thinking about leaving DC
I made a thread when I left DC
Now this update on how things are going

You nikkas is lame for real. :snoop:

He isn't wrong though. You type paragraphs, with vague ass descriptions and claim it's detailing your progress. Sounds more like fake bragging.

1) Do people inquire about you where you need to make these threads?
2) You're horrible at recounting experiences. Is there a moral here? Something you're trying to impart to "us?" Asking for advice? Warning us not to make the same mistakes?
