Folks complain about Chicago winters but it’s lovely right now. Rather have this and our winters than what y’all got right now and your mild winters.

This heat wave is literally no different than the -10 degrees with a -20 windchill that happens here every couple years. Just as deadly and oppressive.

The company said and i'm paraphrasing "AC wouldn't be effective because they make so many stops."

Since i'm an accountant i can translate. translation: Our CFO said we could save alot of money on gas by not installing ac. They got their doors open all the time anyway.

Ups is so analytical with their money, they created a GPS system to only make right turns to save on gas. They did the math and routes are planned out efficiently to save. I can't even lie. Im impressed someone even thought of that. I never was a UPS driver but if this even partially true in some markets that's amazing

It's more about getting all the packages delivered. Sometimes these nikkas get home at 5pm, sometimes (during peak season) it's more like 11:30 pm. Me and my driver would each run to houses on our sides of the street and back to the truck. shyt was crazy.

I had to do that during the winter back in 2017 dropping off packages to homes, apartments and businesses. That was a learning experience

You HAVE to take frequent breaks & hydrated when out in this type of heat. Folks be running around thinking they invincible (not saying that this was the case here).

I hope everyone who is dealing with this heat is ok. It’s terrifying to think of how it affects the body and not everyone has the luxury of having AC or working indoors.
