I agree with everything you said sans this. I think we need people like Lux, Daylyt, JC (you're welcome @Reptile ), etc., to go as crazy as possible to balance out the Punchout style. That is one of the reasons why many of these battles have little to no replay value. We get the candy on the first watch, so throw the w(rapper) away.

Battle rap is plateauing in terms of the advancement of the science, art, and math of rapping. When they say there are levels, this cannot be disregarded as a part of the craft as it blatantly is in the mainstream, and somewhat more commonly in this culture.

It aint even really a matter of "going over heads" Lux writing is just superfluous at times. JC and Lux are the same amount of "going over heads" its just that JC is scared lose people so he kind of keeps it on the surface sometimes, Lux just dont give a fukk. That's true. It was referenced earlier, but Lux on Manifest Destiny gives any battler an issue because each punch is direct, yet has Bermuda triangle depth. JC is way more experienced in this era (potentially overall), so he has a much better understanding of how to pace his rounds without compromising his style.

Lux vs JC would be perfect in a setting similar to Mook vs Roc.
