They're still in Deir Ezzor city. But otherwise it's a matter of time before they're militarily wiped out

man, those cities are fukking DESTROYED.
sad thing is that they will never truly be rebuilt. too much blood has been spilled, they've been at each other's throats for 1,000 years, you can't prevent suicide attacks and the countries that support each and every faction will never stop.

KRG is the Kurdistan Regional Government. The KDP is controlled by Barzani's clan. The PUK is their rivals and Talabani (the former Iraqi President who recently died) was part of this party. The YBS is a Yazidi militant wing.
The YPG are in Northern Syria along with the Turkish border. The PKK traditionally are on the other side of the border in conflict with Turkey. The Turks see the YPG/PKK as the same.
Don't you mean Russian/Iranian backed forces.
