used car under 5k recommendations

what would you guys recommend?

my only must haves are..

-sedan or bigger. no compacts.
-cheap maintenance
-decent on gas
-no more than 140k miles but if its something u think i can get at least 15k miles out of im all ears
-reliability

i got a baby on the way and need a whip soon. got 5k stashed away just for that.

suggest away.

i actually see a lot of good deals on those. i just worry because i know american cars are usually shyt. how was the reliability and maintenance on yours?

They are reliable well into the 200k's

thats actually a pretty good deal . i dont trust craigslist too much but id bring a mechanic with me anyway.

Once I initially got her tuned up ran fine, gave me very little problems, comfortable as hell, decent on gas mileage and plenty of space

i wish but i cant really make that kind of commitment right now. i would need to get the full coverage insurance plus pay for parking. i live in the bronx b there isnt any parking out here and dudes jack cars all the time. as soon as i get out the hood tho my hope is i can get something fresh.
