Sony has confirmed that the digital rights management of PlayStation 4 software will be up to third-party publishers. Speaking on GTTV, Sony's Jack Tretton stated, "The DRM decision for third-party games will be up to publishers."
This clarification comes one day after Sony's E3 press conference this week, where Tretton stated that the PlayStation 4 "won't pose any new restrictions on the use of PS4 gamers." He continued, "We believe in the model that people embrace today with PlayStation 3."

E3 2013: PS4 Used Game Restrictions 'Up to Publishers' - IGN

So it looks like any games with used game blocking will be the same on both systems.

The correct way to handle it. SONY avoids the backlash by being clear that they are not the ones imposing restrictions and gives publishers the ability to do so if they wish (most wont)

It's already like this on the PS3/XBOX 360 anyway...nothing to really see here, but go on.

Publishers of PS4 games, then, can do what's already done on existing PlayStation software: Limit or lock content behind online passes or redemption codes (or opt out of restrictions altogether), which differs from Microsoft's limited licensing of Xbox One software.

Try harder it is exactly the same as it is on the Ps3. There is a difference between MS doing it system wide and automatically being built in and on PS4 having publishers having to create and maintain their own servers to keep track of DRM. Lets see how far they can get with it on Ps4 when the system doesn't have to go online.

The Sony conference made you belive there would be no used games blocking or Drm on their machine period.

This is not true if a publisher wants to block used games or force drm on ps4 they can. Same with Xbox.

The 24 hour check in has nothing to do with used games it's only there to make sure you aren't installing the same disc on a bunch of different systems.

I see intelligence and reading comprehension is something that Xbots in this thread seem to lack?

No, what they basically said is that today's model, with online passes and the like, will continue.

In this case you are worse off. Microsoft has a history of server reliability individual publishers not so much. I'd rather need to check in with proven well funded/supported servers than random publisher ones.
