Ppl acting like Usher wasnt/isn't the premier artist of his time, and wasnt damn near running things in RnB music!:russ:
Like all these 'artists' today haven't been influenced, or in some ways taken cues from him. But, I guess it cant work the the other way.

Kels ran the late 90's/early 00's, not Usher. Kels was the frontman.

This is correct....R Kelly was King but Usher was not far behind. It's just R Kelly was dropping Classic after Classic. And writing Classics for people too. But Usher still had a lot of impact Late 90's/Early 00's. This whole debate is making me realize how much R&B has fallen off, it's really sad.

My Way(97) - 6x Platinum
8701 (01) - 4x Platinum
Confessions (04) - Diamond (The Highest Selling Solo R&B album in over 22 years since R.Kelly's Double LP "R".)

(Honestly....you could argue only R Kelly (And MJ but he was more on the later part of his career) was moving high units consistently like this in R&B genre for Solo Male artist during this time frame)

Look how Usher was taking 3-4 Years in between albums, that's how Big his LP's were. Even Kels had work with Usher eventually and it produced a Grammy Nominated song.

All I know is that The weak end can’t sing for shyt. I saw him live by accident once and dude was struggling to hit the notes. It’s sad that you don’t even have to be at the very least a competent singer now days to have a career.

I don’t know, maybe he has improved now but it was pitiful hearing him live.

Now Usher... that boy can sing live. The closest we have to Michael Jackson’s throne. R Kelly may have him beat when it comes to discography but not when it comes to live performances.
