Valve has announced two free mobile apps that will allow you to play any game or video in your Steam Library on any supported iOS or Android devices.

The Steam Link app, which is slated to release the week of May 21, will work similarly to the physical Steam Link device. It will allow you to run games on your PC that you then stream and play on any device using the app, as long as the host PC is connected either to a 5Ghz network or plugged in with an ethernet cable.

How you will actually control those games is a different question altogether, although Steam’s Big Picture mode already has a history of allowing controls to be highly customizable in games that otherwise don't support it. The Steam Link app will support the use of a Steam Controller and MFI controllers, and you’ll likely need to use something similar as most games won’t have native support for touch controls.

Later this summer, Valve will also be releasing the Steam Video app, which will extend a similar service to Steam’s library of TV shows and movies. This will include the ability to watch this content in offline mode.

Also similar to the physical Steam Link, latency and internet connection will likely be an important factor in the quality of streams on either app. Be sure to check back on IGN for our impressions of the app once it's out.

I feel I’m not even gonna get hyped till I see that Bluetooth input lag
I have a Steam LInk for my TV and it lags enough that I hated playing NBA2K on it.

...

not because the game is stupid, but because the lag is terrible.

This works almost flawlessly as far streaming the video goes to my LG Stylus Plus 3 on 5GHZ wifi. Connecting a controller to my phone via Bluetooth introduces problems(extreme lag, buttons not working/wrong assignment) but bluetooth connected to my PC and it works just as fine.
