The thing with black home ownership is we get married at lower rates than everyone else, thus we have more single income mortgage applications, as opposed to double income, double credit applications.
Also, a lot of us don’t have good credit, and it’s not something taught, or emphasized in the black community.
PLUS…we have a lot of children out of wedlock, and black men on child support, which eats up income, and women who get low income housing, as opposed to buying homes. Then those black men on child support meet a woman, get married, and still have that child support coming out of their checks.
Nobody wants to talk about that, and GMB, but okay.
