His Vlad TV interview is WILD. I know nikkas don’t mess with ol boy but he is telling some wild ducktales on there about knowing who killed Big and pretty much everything else you can think off. Dude claimed to be friends with Pablo Escobar

Other than being caught up in MC Hammer pre-gabgsta rap wave, what did Vanilla Ice really do to deserve the hate?

What, lie about being from Miami?

His record label published a backstory full of exaggerations and outright fabrications to make him seem like he was more down with black folks than he really was. Truthfully he was down enough to begin with

Ice went along with it until he was called out, then he hid behind the label like “they did it”. Dude was a middle class white cat who was exceptional at motocross but loved Hip Hop culture. He had a black co-sign already in Dallas but being the first white solo star was naturally going to be on shaky ground as a possible vulture. It ruined his cred and made folks feel he couldnt trust them.

Lied about being shot or arrested (can't remember which) at a time when that type of lying wasn't accepted.

Lied on MTV about jacking the Bowie "Under Pressure" bassline.

Basically, he came in the game lying, and lying indignantly.

He was white and he was commercializing Hiphop the same way Hammer did. And the stuff @Toe Jay Simpson said was true. But I remember Erick Sermon did an interview (Juan EP I THINK) where he said Vanilla Ice was their opening act on tour and black folks went crazy over Ice Ice Baby before it blew up.

He did not write that song. Chocolate did.

Both the album and “Ice Ice Baby” had been out for months before Chocolate starting talking that talk. It was getting heavy burn in Texas because Ice was from there. It didn’t blow until an LA DJ started playing it and it caught on in that market. Then Chocolate said he wrote it and the only evidence he had was a sheet of paper his girlfriend sent the head of Solar records in the mail only when he asked if there was proof. Even in that scenario Suge was doing all the talking.

You from Texas? Then yeah, you'd know better than me.

Because since he initially lied out the gate and immediately lost credibility, it was easy to believe he lied about writing that song, too.....especially when Chocolate, Suge and others were saying he didn't and still claim that to this day.

I'm sorry but when even white people make fun of you, you might as well stay retired from the game
